Activities

The SCK•CEN reactor dosimetry group provides neutron dosimetry services. This includes following activities:

• Determination of the neutron induced gamma- (or X-ray) activity of dosimeters or samples.
• Determination of the neutron flux and fluence at the dosimeter or sample position.
• Design and composition of neutron dosimetry sets for experiments and reactor pressure vessel surveillance programmes; this work is performed in close collaboration with the Structural Materials expert group of the Institute for Nuclear Materials Science.
• Irradiations in neutron standard fields in the BR1 reactor.

In addition to the services mentioned above, the reactor dosimetry group has been involved in research activities related to retrospective dosimetry, experimental techniques, etc. References of some relevant publications are listed in this document: Reactor dosimetry - Publications (87 kB).

SCK•CEN and the reactor dosimetry group in particular is actively involved in the European Working Group on Reactor Dosimetry.
